Their own pod

Concept · Coming soon to Hindley, Wigan
Luxury dog kennels, reimagined as glamping pods.
Barkation is a planned collection of private, cedar-clad pods in the grounds of Pet Getaway: a calmer, more considered place for your dog to holiday while you are away.
ConceptBarkation is in planning and is not taking bookings yet. Images are illustrations of our intended design.
The idea
Less like a kennel, more like a retreat.
For many dogs, time away from home is easier somewhere calm, comfortable and unhurried. Barkation is built around that idea: a small, quiet place with its own front door, a proper bed and a view.
We are planning luxury glamping pods for dogs, set within the grounds of Pet Getaway, a home dog boarding business in Hindley, Wigan. Think boutique cabin rather than kennel block: natural materials, warm light, and space designed for dogs from the first sketch.
The pods
Designed around the dog.
Properly comfortable
Natural materials, a real bed, soft lighting and quiet evenings, planned to help a dog settle.
Room to breathe
Planned grounds with space to stretch out, in a rural setting in Hindley.
The final design, facilities and specification are still being decided. See the pods in more detail.
Inside
Warm, quiet and made to be slept in.
Imagined in honey-coloured timber, with a generous bed, a soft pendant light and a window made for watching the evening arrive.
The aim is simple: a space that feels settled the moment a dog walks in, and that you would not mind staying in yourself.
A stay, imagined
An unhurried few days away.
This is the experience we are aiming for, not a confirmed itinerary.
Arrive
A calm welcome and time to settle in, without a rush.
Days
Fresh air, company and exercise at a pace that suits your dog.
Evenings
Back to the pod: fed, comfortable and ready to wind down.
Home
A relaxed dog and a proper update when you collect them.
